The hardest endgame challenge of Genshin Impact Version 6.3, titled Stygian Onslaught, is here. Fight against three bosses across 6 difficulty stages and conquer those stages for rewards, including Primogems, Dust of Enlightenment, Mora, Hero’s wit, and also grind Artifacts. In this guide, I will explain how you can defeat those bosses and earn those sweet rewards.

Genshin Impact 6.3 Stygian Onslaught Guide: Boss Mechanisms

To defeat every boss, you have to learn their mechanism; otherwise, you can’t defeat any bosses, even with perfect artifacts and their best weapons.

1. Lord of the Hidden Depths: Whisperer of Nightmares

Lord of the Hidden Depths: Whisperer of Nightmares is a boss from the Nod Krai region. At first, this boss creates a Deepdark Shield equal to 45% of its max HP. If we break this shield within 15 seconds, then the boss will be stunned, will also lose 20% HP, and the boss’s elemental resistance will be reduced by 60%.

Deepdark Shield takes 300% extra damage if we use Lunar Reactions, but this shield is immune to Physical DMG. When the boss creates a Deepdark Shield, it will summon Anglers for 15 seconds. Defeating every Angler reduces the boss shield by 25%. But if we aren’t able to break the shield within 15 seconds, then the boss will launch a massive AoE attack, which can kill your characters in a single hit.

2. Battle-Hardened Fireblade Shock Trooper

Lord of the Hidden Depths: Whisperer of Nightmares is a local legend from the Nod Krai region. This boss will create 3 layers of shield equal to 4.5% of its max HP. The Shield takes 600% increased Electro-Charged DMG and 200% increased Lunar-Charged DMG.

This shield increases all RES by 60% except Electro resistance decrease by 60%, and the shield self-repairs very quickly. After taking Electro-Charged or Lunar Charge DMG, the shield regeneration slows down significantly.

If we break this shield within 30 seconds, then the boss will enter a stun state, and all elemental RES will be decreased by 50% after recovery, and Electro RES decreases by 60%. But if we aren’t able to break the shield within 30 seconds, then the boss will launch 6 AoE attacks, which deal massive damage.

3. Emperor of Fire and Iron

Emperor of Fire and Iron is a boss from the Fontaine region. This boss creates a Pyro shield, which has 150% Pyro resistance and 60% resistance against other elements. The boss also summons 3 Sternshield Crabs at the same time, and all of them have Pyro shield too. After breaking each Sternshield Crab Pyro shield, they will lose control and hit the Boss.

When the Boss is hit, it will also lose HP based on the DMG the Sternshield Crab took, equal to 60%
Hydro DMG taken + 10% other DMG taken,  not exceeding 15% Boss HP. After breaking the boss’s shield, the boss will loose 10% HP.

Genshin Impact 6.3 Stygian Onslaught Guide: Best Teams

In this section, we will talk about the best teams against each boss and provide a short explanation of how to use your character against the boss’s mechanism. We have already explained the roles of every character in their respective teams, so do check them out if you are unfamiliar with their roles.

1. Lord of the Hidden Depths: Whisperer of Nightmares

Lunar Bloom Team

We all know the Lunar Bloom Team deals serious damage, and we will follow the same rotation against this boss. Nefer is our main DPS in this team. Lauma, Columbina, and Nahida will be our support, sub DPS, and buffer.

Lunar Charge team

It’s another overpowered team against this boss. Flins is our main DPS in this team. Ineffa provides crucial shielding; she is our sub DPS and also improves overall team DPS. Columbina is our second sub DPS, and she will provide a buff for the whole team. Sucrose will be our second support, who will provide buffs for Flins and Ineffa.

2. Battle-Hardened Fireblade Shock Trooper

Skirk Premium Team

Skirk‘s premium team destroys this boss, Electro Shield, with team brute force. Use Skirk Burst for destroying the electro shields. Don’t use Skirk’s normal attacks because the boss shield regenerates faster than the whole team’s damage. After breaking the shield, follow the team rotation.

3. Emperor of Fire and Iron

Neuvillette Premium and Freeze Team

Neuvillette is our main DPS for both teams. Furina will be our sub DPS and buffer for both teams. Kazuha and Xilonen will be our support in the Premium team. Escoffier is our sub DPS and buffer for the Freeze team. Cithlali will provide buffs and a shield for the Freeze team. In both teams, our main goal is to break the Sternshield Crab pyro shield and then the Boss Pyro shield.

Try to hit 3 Sternshield Crab and the boss at the same time with Neuvillette’s hold charge attack. After breaking the boss’s Pyro shield, just follow your team rotation.

Final Thoughts

Version 6.3 Stygian Onslaught is easy compared to Version 6.2 Stygian Onslaught. If you have these recommended teams, then you can easily complete Fearless mode. With characters Cons, you can also complete Dire modes.
