Gundam Wars to shut down on June 30, 2026, bringing its near 10 year journey to an end

LINE (LY Corporation) has announced to shutdown its newtype battle assault sim, LINE: Gundam Wars, set for June 30, 2026. Co-developed by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment and LINE, the game was released in summer 2016 and is ending one month before its 10th Anniversary.

Devs didn’t reveal the exact reason behind the sudden service termination

So, LINE: Gundam Wars is a newtype dash battle sim where you build teams of mobile suits and pilots from across the original Gundam series. Here, you can jump into offensive and defensive auto-battles against enemy lineups.

Unfortunately, LINE: Gundam Wars Team announced via X(Twitter) that the game would shutdown on June 30, 2026, in Japan, stating, “We extend our deepest gratitude to all our valued customers for your continued support.” However, the team didn’t reveal the exact reason behind the EOS.

You can play until EOS and enjoy all the bonus rewards

Following the announcement, the game has disabled all in-app purchases, including Diamonds, Premium Login Bonus, and more. That said, you can enjoy the final moments until EOS. As a farewell gift, the game has launched various events like the “Thank You for Everything So Far! Login Bonus” offering various rewards.

What makes it sadder is that the game was so close to its 10th Anniversary, which makes the timing very harsh. Fans are equally emotional, with some revealing how, as “a casual enjoyer, it was an insanely fun game,” while others are simply saying, “Thank you for the 10 years.
