- Iron Roads focuses on smart, board game-inspired train management rather than realistic tycoon simulation.
- The game offers 3 game modes, reactive environments, minimalistic interface, trains, technologies, performance graphs, and more.
- The world dynamically responds to your choices, while letting you climb the leaderboards, enjoy hand-crafted experiences, and more.
Cowleyfornia Studios has announced to launch their new top-down 2D train management simulation title, Iron Roads, scheduled for February 12 on iOS. The game also had tests on Android, but there is no details about launch yet.
Get ready to build a rail network to connect animal passengers with towns and factories
Iron Roads is a train management title with board game-inspired mechanic and it stays away from realistic business sim or tycoon-like titles. Here, your goal is build an efficient network that moves passenger and cargo between towns and factories by laying bricks, buying trains, and setting routes.
What’s so intriguing is that humans no longer exist in this world, and only animal remains, but they’re too afraid to leave their towns. So, your train network is essential for helping this new civilisation thrive. However, you’ll face some pressure when you’re dealing with backlogs, jams, and angry passengers.
You can try multiple game modes, earn tokens, enjoy unique stories, and more
There are three game modes to keep yourself busy, including Endless mode, Scenarios, and Monthly challenges. Endless mode rewards you with R&D tokens for good play that helps you unlock map expansions, while Scenarios look most fun with hand-crafted experiences, unique stories and features.
Overall, the game feels worth waiting for, drawing inspiration from Mini Metro, Opus Magnum, and similar titles. Plus, it offers solid content with minimalistic interface, performance graphs, and more. I can’t wait to transport goods, research new trains and tech, all while listening to notes generated by trains, passengers, and authored melodies.
Iron Roads is scheduled for February 12 on iOS, though it is yet to be listed on the App Store. So, stay tuned for more updates regarding Android launch dates, and more.
